Prince Harry and Meghan release new photos of daughter Lillipet

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have released new photos of their one-year-old daughter Lillipet, after the Sussex family visited the UK for the platinum jubilee celebrations of Queen Elizabeth II.

Lilibet is the spitting image of the Duke of Sussex – including his signature red hair – in the photo taken at her first birthday party in the UK over the weekend.

The little boy wore a pale blue dress and white hair bow for the celebration, which was held at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, UK, on Saturday.

Photographer Maisan Harriman also posted a picture of Markle and Lilibert with his wife Camilla Holmstrom and their daughters.

A spokesperson for the Sussex family said the party was a “casual, intimate outing in the backyard” for “close friends and family”.

Claire Ptak, who created Harry and Markle’s wedding cake in 2018, made a special cake for Lillipet’s party, and family friend Maysan Harriman automatically snapped the adorable photo of this baby. Harriman also notably did a teenage maternity shoot in “Suits” in March 2021.

Page Six previously reported that Prince William, Kate Middleton and their three children had been invited to the intimate party, but were unable to attend due to previous jubilee commitments.

Harry and Markle’s daughter, Queen Elizabeth II, for whom Lillibit is named, first met last week when they brought her and son Archie, 3, to London to celebrate 70 years of service to the 96-year-old monarch.

Page Six reported that the Queen met her great-granddaughter briefly when the Sussex family landed in the UK. The Queen and Lillibet then gathered at Windsor Castle before the child’s first birthday on Saturday.

The Sussexes previously shared this photo of Lilibet and his son Archie as their 2021 Christmas card.

Harry, 37, and Markle, 40, revealed in June 2021 that the name they chose for their daughter was a reference to the Queen’s childhood nickname used by her close family members, including her late husband Prince Philip.

“Lily is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty the Queen, whose family surname is Lilibet,” a statement issued after Lillipet’s birth read.

Sources close to the couple told Page Six that Harry told his grandmother that they would work on naming their daughter Lillibit, although other palace sources claimed they had not asked the Queen’s permission.

While the Queen was able to meet Lillibit, as was expected, Prince William and Kate Middleton and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, were absent to celebrate her birthday and did not meet the young royal.

Page Six exclusively reported on Monday that Harry and Markle had invited the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their children to celebrate Lillipet’s birthday as an olive branch, however William, 39, and Middleton, 40, chose not to attend amid the tense rivalry between the brothers. .

Meanwhile, the Sussex family’s trip to Britain marked the first time Archie had returned to his father’s homeland since the family moved to California after Harry and Markle resigned from their royal duties in 2020.

Harry, Markle and their children arrived in London last Wednesday on a commercial plane and attended many of the platinum jubilee events, although they did not join the other royals on the balcony during Thursday’s Trooping the Color parade.

The couple were also greeted loudly on Friday as they walked out of the national Thanksgiving service at St Paul’s Cathedral in London. At the church service, Harry and Markle sat far from Cambridge.

They quietly returned to the United States early Sunday on a private jet before Platinum Jubilee Pageant, which wrapped up the Queen’s four-day festivities.
